Bad English這個樂團是80年代后期西洋搖滾音樂界當中曇花一現的經典組合，雖然他們只推出過兩張專輯，卻也締造出「When I see you smile」和「Price of love」等等的暢銷金曲，所以就算他們樂團的壽命不長，但還是讓搖滾歌迷難以忘懷。

1989年，Bad English推出他們的創團同名專輯，并且以主打歌曲「When I see you smile」登上了Billboard熱門單曲榜的冠軍。這首歌曲是西洋流行歌壇的創作金手Diane Warren所譜寫的作品，它被灌錄的過程段還有一段小插曲，那就是，這首作品本來是要寫給另一組樂團Sheriff來演唱的，可是這組團體并不喜歡，他們放棄演唱這首歌。而Bad English樂團他們一開始也是堅持要自己唱自己所寫的歌，但是因為主唱John Waite跟Diane Warren是老朋友，所以就把這首歌拿來灌錄，沒想到就成為了這個樂團的經典代表作。
When I See You Smile（當我看到你微笑）是搖滾隊伍“Bad English 壞英國人合唱團”89年全美流行單曲榜雙周冠軍的動人情歌，單曲銷售達金唱片，專輯銷售則獲頒白金唱片認證。這也是電視劇“流星花園”中道明寺與葉莎之歌。
